well if anyone's interested in pitching into the prize pot for judging privileges, we can start shopping the idea around to deepfake sites

I'll pitch in 100$, it's for the FUTURE!

As we all know the film industry has used stand-ins for actors called 'bodydoubles'. We've probably already seen some films where the deepfake technology has already been used. Three things. 1) I'm 100% in favor of this contest! 2) How/where can I contribute to the prize purse?
... and 3)
In the entertainment industry there are certain laws around an actors 'likeness'. What can happen is that if someone uses an actors 'likeness' without permission or approval then it can be a violation of certain copyright laws, contracts, etc.

So, where I'm going with this is that using two live woman and cloning the likeness to the other girl with the proper release forms is the safest way to go. Then again maybe Emma Watson would totally dig seeing the video (he he). Just sayin.

I'm in!

Great to hear MG!

The thread sorta lapsed due to people worrying that it might draw negative attention to the site since the use of the deepfake process/technology has been pretty controversial when it was introduced. Their concerns are listed out in the earlier replies in this thread. I myself am also still interested in holding such a contest/event however ;D

I'd imagine this contest would be in a similar format when we held the TOH art contest on this site earlier. People interested can pitch into the prize pot for judging privileges or just donate to help attract participants. Last time I held the prize purse and distributed it to the winners after all winners were decided upon. Last time we managed to raise a respectable prize pot of $675 I believe and got a good showing of participants.

Now that people have stewed on it a bit more, would like to see if there's still interest for people to pitch in ;D

We can also discuss methods to help mitigate the risk of possible backlash

I'll start the pot with a USD$100
