Hey there, now I just wanted some questions hopefully answered about the following things, and just to clarify, these are the badges that appear next to every members id :P

1. Why do these badges exist?

2. How can I be promoted if such a system exists?

3. Are they indicative of anything other than status within the group?

That's it really for now, thank you for yours answers and taking the time to read this :)

It's based on your post count. You get "promoted" when you've made a certain number of posts. And it's just cosmetic, it doesn't mean anything. You don't get anything for it.

Cool stuff, Deux. I guess it's a way of rewarding participation and recognizing the active members of the community, right?

That's correct! The posts requirements are scaled so the upper echelon ranked members are wise gentlemen/ladies & scholars indeed ;D

Well now at least I can say I outrank some people and can brag about it, asides from video games that is.

Is there a scale for the promotion levels, like a specific amount of posts before you get promoted?

yes there exists a non-linear scale for post # requirements to rank up

it's a closely guarded secret though!

Closely guarded in that if you look far back enough you might find a very old pic detailing how many posts each requires. It might be gone by now though.
